April Cullom, originally from Atlanta, Georgia (USA), swapped her southern roots for the Andalusian Costa del Sol and currently lives 'between two coasts', between New York and Malaga.
She holds a WSET Advanced Certificate, is a Spanish Wine Scholar through the Wine Scholar Guild, a Certified Sherry Wine Specialist (with distinction) and a recognised specialist in Spain by TurEspaña. She is also the creator of the award-winning Alma de Vino and Casa Abril wines.
In 2003, she founded Casa Abril Tastings & Tours to promote Spanish wines inNew York. Her extensive experience in organising professional wine trade and media visits, combined with her strong relationships in Spain and Portugal with local wineries and culinary producers, led her to create '5 Sentidos Private Tours', a company through which she organises tailor-made luxury gastronomic tours in Spain and Portugal for American clients. These bespoke luxury food and wine tours incorporate a touch of culture and history to contextualise the unique local delicacies, inviting her clients on a journey of the senses.
