Professor of Tourism and Hospitality Law and Storytelling Adapted to Regenerative Tourism Destinations at Saxion University of Applied Sciences (Overijssel, Netherlands)

Almudena is a professor of tourism and a storytelling specialist at the Hospitality Business School at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. In her teaching role, she develops international projects focused on cultural and gastronomic tourism. She seeks to transform tourism into a strategic tool for the economic and business development of communities, fostering collaboration between academic institutions, the public sector, and private companies.
She is a member of the UN Tourism Expert Panel on Cultural Tourism and co-author of the report Artificial Intelligence Adoption in Tourism (FITUR 2025), which focuses on combining authentic narratives and technological innovation to enhance the tangible and intangible heritage of developing tourist destinations.
