In 2024, Forbes magazine chose Rosa Melchor (Alcázar de San Juan, Ciudad Real) as one of the 30 most influential women in Spain's tourism sector. She heads an association that has played a key role in consolidating food and wine tourism in Spain. ACEVIN (the Spanish Association of Wine Cities) brings together cities whose economies are dominated by the wine industry. Currently, the organisation comprises 37 towns and wine routes that play a decisive role in their respective rural environments.
Rosa Melchor is also the mayor of Alcázar de San Juan in La Mancha.
